El Dorado Arrests Today
The sheriff's office posts nothing limited to the past 24 hours. Its Citizen RIMS portal turns the public arrests module off, along with booking photos. In its place is the EDSO current-custody roster. It lists certain people now held after a booking finishes and clears public-eligibility rules.
A matching row confirms county custody. A blank screen proves little. Intake may still be underway. The person was perhaps cited and released, transferred, or withheld from display. Juveniles never appear. EDSO also cautions that roster records can lag, stay incomplete, or wait on a court filing.
Check El Dorado's Last 24 Hours
Narrow the dates and the live roster gets easier to scan. But a filter is not an archive. Start with a full name. Then check the agency, the place, the date, and the custody status against what you already know. Recent entries can shift as bookings finish. A second look an hour later sometimes helps.
- Open the official current-custody roster.
- Set dates to today, including yesterday if the event crossed midnight.
- Enter first and last name; retry a partial spelling if needed.
- Open a row and compare booking number, date, agency, location, bail, status, and charges.
- For a very fresh event, retry after intake can finish.
- If timing matters, contact the jail or EDSO Records.
Two jails hold people in this county. The Placerville Jail sits at 300 Forni Road, Placerville, CA 95667, reachable at (530) 621-6000. The South Lake Tahoe jail sits at 1051 Al Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. Its phone number is (530) 573-3030. For records staff, dial (530) 621-5703 in Placerville. In South Lake Tahoe, call (530) 573-3000. The El Dorado County Citizen RIMS custody source displays who is in custody right now.
Its date controls filter current custody and do not form a released-person archive.
El Dorado Arrest Record Fields
Each public row is text only. No booking photo appears. The text still tells you who made the arrest. EDSO runs the El Dorado County jail, and the row can name the arresting agency separately.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Booking number | County intake identifier, not a court case number. |
| Name and booking date | Identity and date attached to the completed booking. |
| Agency and location | Who made the arrest and the recorded place. |
| Status and bail | Time-sensitive custody and release fields. |
| Charges | Codes, descriptions, level, dates, and bail listed at booking. |
| Photo | Not displayed under the current EDSO configuration. |
Physical descriptions and real home addresses stay hidden from the public roster. Rumor cannot fill those gaps. Only the court file records how a case eventually ends. The booking row says an arrest happened. It does not say where the case settled.
Why El Dorado Arrests Lag
Getting booked is not the same as going public. El Dorado County uses Citizen RIMS, and it only displays an arrest after booking wraps up. EDSO publishes no timeline for that gap. No fixed minute count exists.
Weekends and holidays follow no posted schedule either. If a recent arrest does not appear, retry the roster. Check the spelling and the booking date. Then call the jail or the Records Unit. The official Sheriff page carries the current phone numbers and links for both.
The Sheriff's landing page shows the department's contact blocks.
It links custody and public-information tools without promising an hourly booking feed.
Note: Save the booking number when available, then check the court for the later result.
El Dorado Arrest Photos Disabled
No booking photo appears on the roster. EDSO has switched off inmate photos and the arrest-photo function entirely. That means no image is online, not that none exists in an agency file. Ask EDSO Records what can lawfully be released. California law, open investigations, safety concerns, redaction, sealing, and juvenile rules can all block disclosure.
Citizen RIMS is a website, not a documented jail app. Sheriff social accounts may cover major incidents. Emergency alerts and the public-information site may too. Yet none equals a full booking list. California VINE does something else: it tracks custody changes for an eligible person.
Confirm an El Dorado Arrest
Pick your fallback by custody state. Likely county custody? Widen the date range and call the right jail. Released or transferred? Ask EDSO Records which request fits. Records takes public requests in person, by fax, or by mail, within disclosure law.
A person can request their own local CORI. It documents ten years of El Dorado County Jail booking and release dates, arresting agency, and charges. Identification and payment are required. It is not a public name-search archive. For a case outcome, use Superior Court records.
The wider El Dorado County Arrest Log tracks dated incident bulletins, while VINELink Check follows one eligible custody record.
When Same-Day Search Fails
A blank result is rarely the end of the road in El Dorado County. It usually means the search needs refining. Start by confirming which agency made the arrest. Was it the Placerville service area or South Lake Tahoe? Then recheck the spelling of the name. Try a date range that spans both sides of midnight. A late-night arrest can land on either day's roster.
City Citizen RIMS maps and county media bulletins can add context around an incident. But neither one shows that a person was actually booked into jail. RIMS tracks calls, incident numbers, locations, and dispositions. Those are not the same as custody. An incident can end without an arrest ever being made.
When the roster still comes up empty, call the right jail. Ask for current guidance. The Records Unit handles a different set of problems. Reach that office for questions about a released person or a report. It can also help with a booking record no longer in the live custody view. EDSO accepts public-record requests in person. It also takes them by fax or by mail. The published response window runs ten working days. A formal request is therefore no help with an urgent custody question. Report copies cost $0.25 per page, payable by cash or check. Plan on an appointment and a completed form for most records services.
The subject of a record has two more options through EDSO. One is local criminal offender record information, usually called local CORI. It costs $25. The product can cover ten years of El Dorado County Jail booking and release dates. It also lists the arresting agency and charges. It is subject-only and requires identification. A separate $30 clearance letter covers a local arrest or citation. It can take up to ten days. Neither product builds a public archive of everyone arrested on a given day.
Ownership of a record shifts after booking, and knowing the shift saves confusion. EDSO holds the county custody record. A city police department may hold its own incident report. The El Dorado County Superior Court holds the filed case and its eventual disposition. CDCR CIRIS only enters the picture once a person reaches state prison. Federal BOP and ICE searches cover their own systems, not a standard county booking. Keep those boundaries straight. A blank result in one database says nothing about the rest.
El Dorado Arrests Are Allegations
Charges listed at booking are only a starting point. They can change before arraignment, the first court appearance. The disposition, or final outcome, arrives later still. Treat the bail figure as a release field on the roster. Someone arrested in El Dorado County may be released, transferred, cited, or held on another basis as the case moves forward. For accuracy, compare the roster row against the charging document and the court register.
